A MAN has been charged after threatening staff at a food store with a knife.
Aiden Baverstock, 24, of Pennine Way, Buckskin, has been charged with affray, assault by beating and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place following an incident on Saturday, 28 April.
Police were called at 12.44pm to reports of a disturbance at John Burtons Foodmarket at the Winklebury Centre.
Officers received reports that the 24-year-old had threatened staff members with a knife.
During the course of the arrest, one officer received a rib injury, police reported. No other injuries were reported.
Baverstock has been bailed to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 15 May.
