DETECTIVES have released an e-fit image of a man as part of an investigation in to the rape of a teenager.

The attack on the 15-year--old girl is reported to have taken place at around 8.30pm on Monday 22 January, near a footpath that leads from Stratfield Road in Oakridge to the footbridge over Ringway North.

The girl reported that she was walking alone, in the direction of the footbridge, when she was approached by a man not known to her on a mountain bike who grabbed her and raped her.

After the attack, the girl then made her way home.

The man has been described as white, of large build, aged 30 to 40-years-old, having a full, short beard that was styled, and speaking with an Eastern European accent.

At the time of the reported attack, he was wearing a dark green woolly hat, a blue rain jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and work boots.

Detective inspector Penny Murray, from Hampshire Constabulary’s Amberstone Team, said: “Our investigation continues and we are now in a position to release an efit image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with this incident.

“Do you think you know who this man might be? If you think you may know who this is, please contact us.

“I would like to thank those people who got in touch with us following our initial witness appeal.

“We have been following a number of lines of enquiry since the investigation began, and we would still like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have information about what happened.”
