A SOUTH Ham man has been charged with the attempted rape of a woman after an incident in a pub car park.
Gary Carlisle, 50, from South Ham Road appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates Court today, in connection with an incident in the car park of The Rising Sun pub, in Chapel Hill, between 2am and 3am on Sunday, 19 November.
Carlisle has been remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, 3 January.
Detective Inspector Penny Murray from Hampshire Constabulary's Amberstone Team said: "Such crimes are rare in the town but when they do occur they are always thoroughly investigated."
