A MAN returned home to find thieves holding a hammer inside his house in Winklebury.

The 31-year-old returned to his house in Warwick Road between 6.30pm and 6.50pm on Wednesday, 11 October to find two men he did not know inside the house.

One of the men was carrying a hammer. They walked past the victim and out of the house.

One of the men is described as white, around 6ft tall, of slim build, gaunt, pasty complexion, spoke with a local accent, wore a dark hooded top and carried a large black holdall bag.

While the other is described as black, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, short, dark hair and wore a hooded top with the hood up.

It is thought at least one of the men ran off along a pathway at the back of the address towards Dover Close.

Enquiries are underway to find out what exactly has been taken from the property.

Detective Constable Clare Hughes said: “This took place at a time of day when people may have been returning to their homes after work.

“Do you remember seeing two men matching the descriptions given in the Warwick Road area?”
