AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man was assaulted in Eastrop Park.

Police received reports that a 50-year-old man was walking through the park around 8pm on July 6, when a woman started using abusive and aggressive language towards him.

The man was then approached by two men he did not know before one of them assaulted him and shoved him to the ground.

Officers were deployed to the area but were unable to locate the offender, who is described as white, 6ft tall, light coloured hair, aged in his mid to late 20s, wearing checked shorts and carrying a black sports bag over his shoulder.
