A MAN has been left with minor injuries after being assaulted and robbed in Basingstoke.
A 37-year-old man was walking along the footpath adjacent to Basingstoke Leisure Centre and Basingstoke Golf Centre, when he was approached by a group of between seven and nine men.
The group, described as being in their late teens and early twenties, with one member wearing a denim jacket, proceeded to attack the victim stealing cash and a pair of sunglasses.
Police reported that the incident took place around 5:30pm on Wednesday May 17, leaving the victim with causing numerous minor injuries.
Detective Constable Jonathan Swift said: “I am asking for anyone with information about this incident to come forward and speak to us. If you were in the area or have any information that you think might be relevant, please get in touch with us.”
