A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in the back near Basingstoke bus station yesterday afternoon.

Police cordoned off an area of the bus station, in Churchill Way following reports that a man, believed to be 22-years-old, was stabbed in the upper back, between the shoulder blades, by a short bladed implement.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle to the scene at 12.03pm yesterday afternoon.

A SCAS spokesperson said: “The injury was serious, but not life-threatening, and the patient was taken to North Hampshire Hospital.”
