A THIEF has been handed a suspended jail sentence after stealing more than £600 worth of goods.
Rebekah Rose Mary Gillespie, 22, of Skippetts Gardens, Basingstoke, pleaded guilty to a string of thefts spanning from January 2016 to June 31, 2016.
Items Gillespie stole during her spree included six lamb chops from the Coop in Old Basing, valued at £31.74, a bottle of wine from Sainsbury’s in Newbury valued at £5.50 and an Oral B Toothbrush valued at £60 from Wilko in Basingstoke.
Gillespie also admitted to the breach of a community order. Basingstoke magistrates sentenced her to three months in prison for each offence, to run concurrently, suspended for 18 months.
She was also ordered to carry out six months drug rehabilitation, 80 hours of unpaid work, and pay £200 in compensation.
