TIMBER worth nearly £5,000 has been stolen from a compound near Upton Grey, Basingstoke.
Police have reported that more than 8,000 meters of timber planks used for roofing, valued at £4,800, were stolen from the compound in Hoddington House between Friday and Monday.
PC Andrew Reid said: “I ask if anyone was walking in that area between these times and dates, but most likely over the weekend and may have seen a vehicle parked outside the compound on the grass side parallel with the footpath, if they could please give me a call direct.
“The vehicle used may well have been a transit type vehicle or small lorry or flat bed.”
