POLICE are appealing for information to help trace a number of items believed to have been discarded following an incident in Basingstoke.
As reported on The Gazette website, two BMW cars were broken into in Salisbury Gardens, South Ham, some time overnight between Wednesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 9, and a number of items were stolen and discarded nearby.

The items police are looking for are described as:
- A River Island brown and cream patchwork bag
- A Ted Baker purse
- A white gold chain with a silver/diamond pendant
- A Sainsbury's voucher
- Chanel sunglasses
- Miss Dior perfume
- A cream Ted Baker vanity case containing Bobbi Brown makeup.
PC Neil Plascott, said: "We believe these items were discarded in the immediate area but have so far been unable to recover them.
"We’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen or found the items. I would like to ask all local residents to check their gardens and bins to see if any of the missing items have been put there."
Officers have charged a man in connection with the theft from the vehicles.
Philip Raymond Simpson, 29, of Victoria Road, Ruislip Manor, London has been charged with fraud and theft from a motor vehicle.
He will appear at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on June 28.
