Thieves broke into a shed and stole a variety of garden tools from a property in Weston Patrick, Basingstoke.

Police believe a group of people broken into the garden of the house, before taking equipment including a chainsaw, hedge trimmer and a strimmer.

The incident took place between 9.30pm on March 15 and 1am on March 16, officers are appealing to witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious at this time.

The break in was part of a spate of thefts across Hampshire on the same night, which saw a total of eight shed broken into.

PC Andrew Reid said: “I ask if anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to please give me a call direct, likewise any strange or suspicious vehicles seen in the area before the burglary.

“This is part of a spate of such crimes with a similar one being reported in Burkham the same night when eight sheds were broken into.”
