POLICE officers investigating an assault on a woman in Basingstoke by a bogus charity worker have released an efit image of a man.
The assault on the 50-year-old woman took place between 7.15pm and 7.35pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in her home in Abbey Road, Popley.
The woman answered her door to a man who claimed to be from a children’s charity. When she could not see any identification, she politely declined and went to shut the door.
She was then punched in the face by the man, causing her to fall backwards and onto the floor. She was able to kick the door shut as she fell and then lost consciousness for a short time before raising the alarm.
Investigating officers in a position to release an efit image of a man they would like to speak to about the assault.
The man is described as:
• White
• Aged 25 to 28 years
• Around 5ft 10ins tall
• Dark eyes
• Clean shaven
He wore a navy blue plain sweatshirt and light blue jeans.
