A MAN is being hunted by police after robbing a shop in Basingstoke in the early hours of this morning.
Between 5.45am and 6.30am he struck at the One Stop shop on Sark Way in Popley.
The offender, dressed in dark clothing, entered the shop and threatened staff members before stealing a large quantity of money, police said.
A force spokesman said: "It is thought that he may have been carrying a bag that the money was placed into.
"The male responsible left on foot but may have subsequently got into a vehicle.
"Did you hear or see anything in relation to this incident? Have you seen or heard anything unusual or suspicious in the area recently?
"Do you live in the vicinity and have CCTV? Does your morning route take you past the shop?
"Do you recall seeing any vehicles in the area or any persons on foot throughout the
relevant time? Do you have any information that may assist police with their enquiries?"
