A THUG armed with a razor blade attacked a man in a Basingstoke underpass.

The attack took place at around 7.20pm on Tuesday, September 15, when the 21-year-old victim was walking with his fiancee in the underpass under Popley Way, between St Bede's Church and Abbey Court.

It started when the attacker grabbed the victim on the shoulder and ripped his t-shirt with the blade.

In the struggle that followed, the victim managed to knock the blade out of the attacker's hand, before the attacker punched the victim and pushed him to the floor.

The attacker then ran off. He was described as being a black man, between 20 and 30 years of age, about six feet tall and with afro hair, and wore a black hooded top, a black tracksuit and black Nike trainers with a white tick logo.

He was with a second man, who was described as white, in his mid 20s, about five foot eight inches tall, and of skinny build with a pierced nose.

He had mousey blonde hair in cornrows and wore a white fleece jacket with a picture of a black dragon on the back, blue jeans and blue Nike trainers with a yellow tick logo.
