The victim was then punched to the left side of her head which caused a slight injury.

A 22-year-old man has since been arrested and has been bailed until August 29, pending further enquires.

PC Karen Walsh, from the Northern Investigation Team, said: "This was an unprovoked attack which left the victim with injuries to her face.

"Several members of the public were believed to have witnesses the assault and came to the aid of the victim. Were you one of these men? Did you witness the incident?"
