A TEENAGER has been charged with two counts of arson following a fire at a north Hampshire church.
The 16-year-old was charged with arson reckless as to whether life was endangered for the fire at All Saints Church in Fleet on Monday evening.
Police previously said he was from Basingstoke but now say he lives in Fleet.
The 16-year-old was also charged with arson for an incident at the same church that took place on Tuesday, June 16.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today.
As reported, detectives had also arrested a 17-year-old boy from Fleet and bailed him until August 27.
Firefighters, including those from the retained station at Hartley Wintney, battled the fire for three hours on Monday evening.
It destroyed the roof of the 19th century church.
