ROGUE traders have been running a Tarmac scam in a north Hampshire village.
Police said a group of people is visiting farms in Winchfield pretending to be from the Highways Agency and offering tarmac for an agreed price of £20 to £30.
They then state their truck is damaged and need to off load the tarmac before it goes off.
But once the tarmac is laid, the traders then charge the farmer around £10,000, stating the agreed price was £20 to £30 a square metre.
Police said when challenged, the group have become threatening and intimidating.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
