A YOUNG man lashed out at his stepfather after repeatedly calling at his mother’s home in Overton.

Michael Blackburn, of no fixed abode, called the house of his mother and stepfather in Foxdown three times, during the morning on September 27 this year.

On two of the occasions, he hit his stepfather Jonathan Camille, when he was ejected from the house, Winchester Crown Court heard.

The 20-year-old was in the dock having been convicted by magistrates of criminal damage and putting someone in fear of violence, an offence under the Harassment Act.

The court heard that Blackburn called on the house at 2am, 4am and 8.45am that morning, after drinking seven beers and taking cocaine.

Gemma White, prosecuting, said: “At 2am, Blackburn is banging on the doors, and was allowed in but then told to leave.

“At 4am again, he was allowed in and then there’s an altercation with his brother. When being removed, Blackburn throws punches to Mr Camille’s head and back area.”

Blackburn threw more punches when he came to the house at 8.45am, Miss White said. He also punched a hole in an interior wall of the house.

The court heard Blackburn’s family forgave him in a letter to the judge.

David Storry, defending, said: “The family knows Blackburn has a problem with drugs. He is mortified he is in court and he’s very much grateful he still has the support of his family.”

Judge Andrew Barnett sentenced him to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, with supervision and programme requirements.
