AN ELDERLY man has died, two weeks after suffering serious injuries when he was hit by a car near his home.
James Jamieson, 82, of Attwood Close, Kings Furlong, died at Basingstoke hospital on Saturday.
The widower was injured when he was in collision with a Ford Focus, at 7.20am on Friday, August 29, as he crossed Worting Road, near the Morrisons supermarket.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene and Mr Jamieson was taken to Basingstoke hospital.
A 51-year-old woman from Tadley, the driver of the car, was not injured and provided an account of the crash to the police.
Officers closed the road in both directions between Lawrencedale Court and Attwood Close.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 and ask for the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Eastleigh police station, quoting Operation Bagherra.
