THE opening hours of the front office at Basingstoke police station will reduce as part of a review by Hampshire Constabulary.
The changes, which come into force on Monday, June 23, will see the opening hours at the station in London Road reduce by two hours from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday, to 8am to 8pm. The bank holiday opening hours will continue to be 10am to 6pm.
Two front offices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight will close, in Totton and Ryde, while two new offices will open a few days a week in Lyndhurst and Waterlooville.
The force said it had conducted an “in-depth” review into the numbers of people visiting police stations across the county.
It added that as well as visiting police stations, members of the public can report crime by using the 101 non-emergency number, and that the changes will have no impact on the service provided by local officers.
