A CARJACKER made off at speed after dragging a van driver from his parked vehicle.

The 49-year-old victim was parked in his grey Ford Transit van in Hill View Road, South Ham, at 2.30am on Monday, June 9, when the robbery took place.

A man wearing a black and white scarf around his face opened the driver’s door and demanded the driver get out of the van.

When the victim refused, the man grabbed him by his arm and pulled him from the van. The man then drove off in the van, heading down Hill View Road and turning left into Winchester Road.

The victim suffered cuts and grazes as a result of falling to the floor, as well as an injury to his ankle.

PC Craig Bannerman appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who has been a victim of a similar robbery and not yet reported it, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Bannerman at Basingstoke police station on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
