A MAN was robbed at knifepoint for £5 as he walked home from an evening out.

The 57-year-old victim was walked along Basing View and over the railway bridge into Norn Hill sometime between 10.45pm and 11.05pm on Monday, March 31.

Once over the bridge he was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife and demanded cash.

The victim handed over a little over £5 and the suspect made off with another man.

Police are now appealing for witnesses in relation to the incident.

The man with the knife is thought to be in his late teens. He is described as white, 5ft 11, and as having broad shoulders.

His face was covered with a scarf and he was wearing a black puffy coat with the hood up and a cap underneath.

His companion is described as white and of skinny build. He is thought to be slightly younger than the first male.

Since the incident police have been carrying out extra police patrols in the area this occurred to help offer reassurance to local people.
