A LOCAL networking group has raised nearly £750 to support a local charity, which is fundraising for a new cancer centre in north Hampshire.
Women in Business members raised £734 over the course of a year for Basingstoke-based Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is raising £5m towards a state-of-the-art centre which will offer radiotherapy, chemotherapy, support services and complementary therapies.
Laura Bell, president of Women in Business, said: “We are delighted to have made a contribution to this fabulous charity.
“The people are committed to building an amazing cancer treatment centre, and as a local business group, we are proud to have played our part.”
Vickie Randall, charity manager of The Ark Cancer Centre Charity, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been supported by such an enthusiastic, energetic and dynamic group of local businesswomen, who have been determined to make their contribution to the cancer centre count.
“They have not only made a generous contribution to our target amount, but have also offered business advice and expertise to help us on our way.”
