A BASINGSTOKE dad who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in memory of his son has released a documentary in honour of his five-year-old boy.

Mike Wilson has posted the video of the challenge on YouTube, to raise funds for Naomi House Hospice, where his son Jayden was cared for before he died in December 2014.

Every view of the documentary, which was filmed, produced and edited by Mike, will contribute towards raising funds for the hospice, in Sutton Scotney.

As reported in The Gazette, Jayden inspired people across the world after he was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour in August 2013, aged just four-years-old.

A video of the little boy being surprised by his dad, who dressed up as Spider-Man and jumped down from the roof of the family's home in Beggarwood on Jayden's birthday, went viral and has been watched more than 13 million times.

Now, Mike hopes his new film will have similar success, and raise vital funds for the hospice.

He said: "I'm sending this video to all my contacts in the hope of spreading some inspiration, as well as showing what Kilimanjaro was really like from the perspective of a normal group of four brothers.

"The documentary shows all levels of how difficult the journey was, both physically, mentally and emotionally. The video is also a fundraising opportunity. Every view contributes towards raising money for the Naomi House charity. So the more people who see the documentary, the more money raised."

Last year, the Wilson family raised an incredible £43,000 for the hospice in memory of Jayden.
