A LOCAL dance school will take to the stage to raise cash for a good cause after being inspired by brave Basingstoke youngster Jayden Wilson.

As reported by The Gazette, five-year-old Jayden Wilson was given just a year to live after he was diagnosed with an incurable grade four stem brain tumour in 2013.

Jayden lost his battle with the illness at Christmas last year.

Since his death, his parents Mike and Lou and sister Ella have embarked on a fundraising mission – entitled Hope From Jayden – to raise money for Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Sutton Scotney, which supported Jayden and his family. Thousands of pounds have already been raised through events such as a charity abseil and a rowing event in Reading.

Mike has also created a follow- up to his Spider-Dad video, with every view on YouTube raising cash for the hospice.

And members of the Chandelle Stage School, based in the Sycamore Centre, in Winklebury, will hold a special evening of entertainment at The Haymarket theatre, Wote Street to raise funds for the appeal.

The event, which takes place from 6pm on Sunday, July 26, will see performances of popular songs from hit musicals such as Chicago and 42nd Street, as well as performances to songs from Disney hit Frozen.

Tickets for the show, priced £14.50, concessions £9.50, are available from the box office on 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk.
