A BASINGSTOKE businessman has proved to be a real driving force when it comes to supporting a local cancer centre charity.
Hayden Gowan, who owns The Tea Bar in The Top of The Town, organised a second successful fundraising golf day in aid of Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
The charity is raising £5million towards a unique local cancer treatment centre that will be built by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Forty-four golfers in 12 teams took part in the latest golf day which was held at Test Valley Golf Club, near Overton.
An auction and fundraising gathering was later held at The Tea Bar, resulting in a fundraising total of £1,280.
This will be doubled thanks to match funding from Greenham Common Trust.
The winning team was presented with a trophy in memory of George McElhinney, who passed away from cancer last year.
Hayden thanked golf company TaylorMade, Bombshell Hair and Beauty Limited, staff and the golfers for their support.
