A TECHNOLOGY company has proved itself to be a picture of success.
Basingstoke-based Image Processing Techniques, which makes equipment that is used by film directors, colourists and post-production editors working in a high-definition TV or digital film environment, has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for its OmniTek XR image analysis system.
Since its launch in 2005, the XR has been used on many high-profile projects, including Dr Who, Torchwood and the Harry Potter film series.
The company's president, Mike Hodson, said: "We're honoured to receive this award, and it is especially welcome in our 10th anniversary year.
"Thank you to the many customers, suppliers and business partners all over the world who give us their continuing support.
"Most importantly of all, this award is dedicated to our excellent staff whose loyalty and hard work are the core of our business success."
Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the country's most prestigious for business performance, recognising and rewarding outstanding achievement. The award for innovation acknowledges companies that have demonstrated commercial success through innovative products or services.
Mr Hodson said: "The award cements our growing reputation as a true leader and innovator in the broadcast test and measurement industry.
"This achievement will provide a springboard for our continued commitment to develop some of the most innovative products available for the broadcast test and measurement market."
The company moved from Reading to Intec Business Park, in Wade Road, at the end of last year.
Other local recipients for Queen's Awards are Greenham Common Trust and Motorola.
Greenham Common Trust, which runs New Greenham Park, near Newbury, received the Enterprise award for Sustainable Development in recognition of its work regenerating the former nuclear airbase as a sustainable business park.
The trust's chairman, Sir Peter Michael, said: "Over the past decade, the trust has distributed over £8.5million into the local area, supporting social, educational, environmental and artistic projects within the community.
"We believe that New Greenham Park provides a blueprint for sustainable urban regeneration."
Motorola received its award for Enterprise in International Trade, for its Point-to-Point Fixed Wireless Solutions Group.
The mobile phone giant, which has sites at Chineham Park and on Viables Industrial Estate, has tripled its overseas sales since 2000.
Exporting to 121 countries, it has sold more than 90 per cent of its production overseas, earning export revenue totalling £57m over three years.
Motorola chairman Sir David Brown said: "It's a great honour for Motorola to be recognised by the Queen's Award for the ninth time.
"The division has enjoyed tremendous success in the international market and we look forward to further growth."
