IT IS all change at Basingstoke's Women in Business Group.
Following its annual general meeting at Basingstoke's Holiday Inn, a new committee has been formed to head the networking group, which is affiliated to the North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Sue Brown, corporate tax manager at Tenon, gave her final report as the group's president before handing over the reins to Lindsey Page, from Hook-based beauty and complementary health therapist Finishing Touch.
Mrs Brown said 2007-08 had been another great year and her high point was the group's 15th anniversary celebrations in September, when the headline speaker was former British Airways Concorde pilot Barbara Harmer.
Mrs Brown said: "Women in Business events always attract interesting and wide-ranging speakers, such as local consultant surgeon and divisional director Anne Stebbing, from the Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust.
"This year, we have programmed a diversity of speakers, on subjects ranging from How Clean Is Your House? to Buying Confidently."
Of her tenure, Mrs Brown said: "I've enjoyed my time as president, and have always been supported and encouraged by a great team, including the departing four committee members, Marion
Bruce, from Chordiant Software, Caroline Daymond, from Hampshire Clinic, Ann Davies, managing partner at Lamb Brooks Solicitors, and Linda Poulter, from Bates Investment Services.
"Particular thanks go to Ann Davies, a past president, who we would like to offer lifetime membership to.
"The Women in Business Group is in good hands - women who talk together do business together!"
Miss Davies has been involved with the Women in Business Group almost from the beginning, having taken over from first president Diana Giordmaine-Blade, before handing on to Sheila Glyn-Owen, a solicitor practising at Phillips, and latterly Sue Brown.
Offering advice to the new president, she said: "The secret is a good committee who help and support."
Linda Poulter stepped down as treasurer after presenting the accounts for the year ending October 31, 2007, which showed another financially healthy year and growth in income from meeting fees due to bigger attendances at events.
Ms Poulter said: "It's been fun and I'm happy to hand over as treasurer, after around four years in the role and twice as many on the committee."
