FIREFIGHTERS freed two men trapped in a crashed car near Botley early today.

They had to cut off the roof of the Ford Focus which had smashed into a tree at the junction of Shamblehurst Lane North and Winchester Road at about 2am.

The two men, believed to be in their early 20s, were extricated from the vehicle on spinal boards and taken by ambulance to hospital.

The car had ended on its side in a ditch.

Watch manager Nigel Mottashed, of Botley fire station, said both were "lucky to be alive."

One appliance from Botley and one from Hightown attended the accident

Do you spend your entire life trawling this forum, looking for opportunities to let people know they're not very nice? It's all I ever see you do. Go do something else, this is a comment site, not Nice People Central

Yeh do as you please, O Moral Crusader. Just seems a bit pointless, going looking for things to be annoyed and upset by. Real life's full enough of things that are annoying and upsetting, without going looking for them. Does it make you feel warm and fluffy, pretending to be "nice" and pointing out perceived flaws in others? I'm yet to see you actually comment on a story by the way, which is what the boards are all about

Yeh. Very nice. "I would rather pick on sad people like you". You know nothing about me. Still, you now admit that you're primarily a troll whose interest is to pick fights with people on the Internet he looks down upon. That's a little more we know about this "be nice, everybody!" hypocrite

Apologies to everyone else for being dragged into this and clogging up the boards with rubbish. Over now
