ANDOVER police are warning drug users about mixed batches of heroin which can make people aggressive and violent.

As well as being illegal, drug-users run the risk of not knowing what they are taking or what the heroin has been mixed with.

A police spokeswoman said: "The mixing of controlled substances will increase the risk to the user, especially if further mixed with alcohol."

Samples of heroin seized in Andover and analysed show it's being sold pre-mixed with a class C substance, Alprazolam. Aprazolam is a benzodiazepine, often abbreviated to benzos.

The heroin is a reddish colour and can make users spaced out' for a long time, aggressive and violent.

Drug-users are being told not to hesitate getting medical help if they, or someone they know, appears to be suffering from any effects associated with the use of drugs.

Well all I can say is to all the respectable people like myself is keep away from the likes of King Arthurs & Roman and the other estates and we should avoid these people.

I don't see locations being mentioned anywhere. Your comments are inappropriate and unkind to the vast number of decent, respectable families who live on the estates.
Drug abuse is an evil that rears its head in all areas, from the most affluent to the most deprived and we should recognise that no family is immune from its dreadful effects.

They don't need to mention location as everyone knows what it's like over there, tell me why KAW is called King Nasties then???.

I will agree there is a very small minority of decent people living there but they are overshadowed by the behavior of the other 99.9% living there.

I can not understand why anyone would want to live there as I would move mountains to move somewhere else if I lived there.

Has anyone ever hear anyone say anything nice about estates and the majority of people that live there, you only have to read the Advertiser every week to know what it is like.

Sorry if you are offended but it is true and if you live there then you have my sympathy.

Ok so we have users and sellers of drugs, it is unfortunate that these people have fallen into the drug trap. However we should recognise that they have an addictive illness similar to alcoholics. We see much criticism of these people and little in the way on constructive encouragement. There is in fact only one way to prevent drug abuse, and that is to prevent new people from becoming involved. If we can prevent new people getting involved with drugs, the problem will resolve itself with age. The sooner the government realise this the sooner we will be free of the problem. In the meantime educate your youngsters as best you can to encourage them to find friends that are not drug users. Every new drug user has to be given the drug by someone who already uses it. Youngsters must be discouraged to keep well away from friends who involve themselves in drug culture. Heroin users should be able to get ALL their supplies to keep them going from the doctor. By allowing the NHS to prescribe regular strength heroin to existing users, they can control the withdrawals and prevent overdoses and poisoning from dealers tampering. This will also starve the dealers of trade, and make the import of heroin a none profitable business for overseas dealers. Existing users need treatment not punishment. These methods will clean up King Arthurs Way and any other estates effected. It will take time and the sooner someone in power clicks on, the sooner we will have less drug abuse and in turn less other problems. I call upon ALL drug dealers to do just one decent thing in life, and that is, please do not sell drugs to any NEW people or worse, any school children, because that really does take you beyond any excuse for being the lowest of the low. The Government should impose the highest possible penalties for this category of drug sellers. I hope this makes sense!

BabyFirefly, Someone got a silver spoon in her mouth eh? I live on king Arthurs way & pay over £650.00 PCM in rent. You tell me where an honest person with 2 young Children can get affordable housing? You give me the impression that 'Daddys bank rolled you all your life' You are the only kind of person likely to get into trouble on an estate with an attitude like that. Do not judge people on where they live, you never know you may end up on the council. Also i got news for you love, there are drug users everywhere from Brixton to the houses of Parliament. People dont walk around wearing t shirts advertising the fact they are dealers/users & I bet you dont live 500 yards away from one. Grow up.

Buck$, no I was not born with a silver spoon, well maybe a small spoon but that came from my parents who worked **** hard for all they have not sat on their backsides expecting the government to pay for everything.

It its just typical that people always seem jealous of others who want better for themselves and their families and get off their backsides and do it. Yes daddy does bank roll some things for me but I also make my own money and like you have 2 children. I also rent but my rent is a lot more than you pay but I am not prepared to live somewhere like KAW. Oh I absolutely agree I would get in to trouble on an estate like KAW with my attitude but sadly that just verifies everything I have already said about the sort of people that live there and the way they behave - like animals.

I did have a friend who moved to Roman Way and within a year of visiting a few times a week I had £3000 of damage by my car being keyed front to back and 3 other incidents of damage and all I ever did was walk from my car to her house.

As for your housing situation, I do not want to presume you receive benefit but if you do then why not use your wages on top of what the council would pay towards your housing to move to a better area as that is what I would do. As for me living within 500 yards away from a addict/dealer I very much doubt it if you saw my neighbours and if I do then they behave most respectfully to myself and the other neighbours where I live.

Well I will not except handouts from anyone. As a man I stand on my own two feet, my financial situation dictates the fact that I privately rent my Accommodation. I do not recieve any Benefits or have the privallage of a nice cheap council house. I had a mortgage on a property 5 years ago but had to sell When my father got Terminally ill, to help fund my mother being his full time carer. Thats how i ended up on KAW, & believe me its an eye opener. I have delt with the so called 'scum' that you point out, but have also met some friends for life. Some down right honest people who I could trust with my life. Unfortunate what happened to your car, but please dont be bitter & judge everyone on your experiences. Thats just ignorant.

Buck$, you sound like a proud man and 1 of the good people that live on KAW and I feel for you and the situation you are in but many do not want to work instead sit on their **** waiting for benefit day to roll around again and that is the people I am talking about.

I agree about being jaded and bitter but it only comes from experience of the place I'm afraid and the way I have seen some of the children and their parents behave.

I agree about not wanting handouts and I applaud you for that but there are many many that are not as honest as you and it gives people the opinion of the like of KAW and Roman that they do have.

What annoys me about things like my car being damaged is it is all about jealousy as they resent others having nice things but are not prepared to get off their **** and work for things like I do, the parents know what their kids get up to but do not seem to care and heaven help you if you went to speak to a parent about their child as you are just as likely to get a smack in the mouth for your trouble.

I know who damaged my car but to save getting more of the same I had to just get it repaired and let it go, the parents even told the boy well done for doing it, so how can you reason with the likes of those people.

After reading this thread over the last few days on my way home last night I decided to pop in the shop to get some milk and to have a look and see what I thought about the views given and I must say what I saw backed up what a previous poster had said.

There were kids of about 13, smoking, swearing, dropping litter outside the shop, hanging round in a gang of about 15.

There was a man stood outside the shop drinking a bottle of white lightening.

I saw a mother about mid 20's with 2 kids about 5 and under and all that came out of her was the F word and no-one but me seemed to be shocked by this sort of behaviour.

There was rubbish absolutely everywhere on the floor.

So I agree it really is a scum hole, full of people I would not like to mix with and I sure as hell would not ever want to live there as I could think of nothing worse.

Sorry but I am telling it like I saw it.

What shocks me more is that the mother in her mid 20s only had two kids. The other three must've been off keying BabyFireFly's car!
I'm not going to knock the estates, I wouldn't want to live on them, but I wont knock em. There's a lot of hard working people on the estates who really are the salt of the earth. But there's also a good few who've tarnished the areas reputations. Unfortunately that means for the hard workers when it comes to moving elsewhere the money you'd get for the house will maybe get you a pigeon loft elsewhere.

A Casual Observer, I was really amused about the bit you said about 'the other three must've been off keying BabyFireFly's car'.

But sadly it is not far from the truth as to what happened to my car.

It is good to see someone else agreeing with me and no belly rubbing these people (as Steve Wilkos) says.

True there are some good people on these estates but they are probably the ones who want to move off the estates and I would rather have a pigeon loft anywhere else than a mansion on King Arthurs.
