Warm advice for elderly in Hampshire
6:30pm Monday 15th October 2012 in News By Adam Richards
A CAMPAIGN to help old and vulnerable people keep warm this winter has been launched by Hampshire County Council.
A free advice line has been set up for people to call for tips on how to reduce heating bills, and help claim grants for winter fuel emergencies.
As part of the annual Hitting the Cold Spots campaign, up to 10,000 information packs have been made available with advice leaflets, and they come with a room thermometer, a snood, and a carbon monoxide detector.
Councillor Felicity Hindson, Cabinet member for adult social care, said: “Making sure that older people and families stay warm during the cold winter months is a top priority, and we know it can be a struggle and a worry when the weather turns harsh.”
