TWO lanes of the A34 have reopened after a car transporter collided with the central reservation near Whitchurch.

Police closed the dual carriageway last night after a car transporter came loose from a recovery vehicle and crashed, spilling its load of Range Rovers across both carriageways.

The road was closed for repairs from the A303 Bullington Cross junction and the B4640 Tot Hill junction. Officers have now reopened one lane on both the northbound and southbound carriageways.

Anyone with information on the crash can contact Police Sergeant Lyndon Barrett, of Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit, on 101, quoting Operation Bodmin.
