Three escape injury in Buckskin crash

The drivers and a passenger escaped injury in this nasty-looking collision
TWO drivers and a young passenger were lucky to escape unhurt following a two-car collision in a Basingstoke suburb.
Emergency services were called out shortly after 8.40am last Thursday after a silver Peugeot 206 and a dark grey Ford Focus collided at the junction between Chiltern Way and Lowlands Road, in Buckskin.
Police officers at the scene said the two female drivers, and a young front-seat passenger in the Focus, were unhurt, but went by ambulance to Basingstoke hospital for precautionary checks.
A fire crew from Basingstoke fire station was dispatched but not needed as all the people involved were out of their vehicles.
At the scene, Dean Newland, the dad of the Peugeot driver, said his 18-year-old daughter was “badly shaken” by the incident. He added she had only passed her test six months ago.
“My daughter phoned up straight after to say she had been in a crash,” said the 45-year-old plumber, from Buckskin. “I live round the corner so ran straight out the house. It was a huge relief to see her out of the car. She was quite shaken up by the accident, but thankfully is okay.”
Both cars were removed from the crash scene, and the road reopened by 9.45am.
