BASINGSTOKE MP Maria Miller has just joined the popular social networking site Twitter.

The newly-promoted Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport, and Minister for Women and Equalities opened her account a week ago today – and @Maria_MillerMP accumulated more than 600 followers in less than two days.

I'd have thought Ms Miller's views on abortion would be a more newsworthy item for the residents of the area - especially as it was on the front pages of the nationals today...........or is the Gazette so keen to have a regular 'news feed' from our local MP that they don't want to put anything here that might prove to be contraversial?

There was me thinking the gazette was an investigative newspaper - oh yes, hot topic of the moment, cycling in the top of town!!!!

Sorry Jonty11 but all the nationals have done is got her to say that she has not changed her views on abortion since 2008 when she voted for a reduction in the legal time limit to 20 weeks. Controversial!!!
I can read the headlines in The Gazette: MP DOES NOT CHANGE HER MIND......on second thoughts perhaps that is newsworthy! :-)

Show me one news item whereby The Gazette has aimed any negative publicity at Maria Miller. You won't find any. Maybe someone should investigate why that is ????

I take anything this woman says with a pinch of salt, her views change to the circumstances of the time and how her paymasters instruct her.

As for the abortion statements, where did that come from, a controversy over nothing out of thin air, I wonder what news they are trying to bury.
