Attempted street robbery in South Ham

DETECTIVES are investigating an attempted street robbery in South Ham.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was walking along a footpath between Cleaver Road and Colyer Close, between 1.30am and 1.45am on Sunday, July 8, when he was approached from behind.

The mugger demanded he hand over his mobile phone and threw punches when the victim refused. None of the punches made contact and the victim managed to run away.

The offender is described as black, around 40-years-old, 6ft 1-2ins tall, and had very short dark hair. He wore a dark-coloured hooded top with the hood up and dark-coloured trousers.
