TODDLERS took their turn on the catwalk to make some money for their pre-school.

The youngsters at Castle Hill Pre-School wore T-shirts of their own design at the fashion show, held at Fort Hill Community School, in Kenilworth Road, Winklebury, Basingstoke, where they have lessons.

A total of 42 children, aged between two-and-a-half and four-and-a-half, took part, watched by a 120-strong crowd of parents. Even the teachers got in on the fun, dressing up as the popular children’s television character Bob the Builder.

Nearly £200 was raised, which will go towards the running of the pre-school.

Des Martin, manager of Castle Hill Pre-School, said: “It was excellent. The children were fantastic and really brave, because they were in a room they had only been in a few times before.

“We try to make the children’s learning experiences as real as possible, so painting their T-shirts as a surprise for their mums and dads at the fashion show really inspired their creative thinking, and produced some lovely, bright results.”
