A ROBBER snatched a handbag from a woman walking in Basingstoke – getting away with 8p in change.
The street robbery took place in Norn Hill, South View, at around 7.45pm on Thursday, February 9.
The 25-year-old victim was walking near the house numbers 42 to 61 when someone grabbed her bag from her shoulder and knocked her to the ground. The robber then ran off into the housing estate.
He is described as of average build and 5ft 4ins tall, and wore a dark-coloured hooded top.
Detective Constable Simon Quickfall said: “The victim’s property was later recovered by police officers and returned to her and the offender only managed to steal 8p in change.”

The victim's property was recovered.
The criminal got away with 8p only.
The victim was honest about the 8p - many people would have claimed there was at least £200 in the bag. I think she should get a payout from the criminal compensation board for both her honesty and trauma.
