A WOMAN was injured and homes evacuated after a gas explosion in a Basingstoke home.
Fire and ambulance crews were called to the house in Abbey Road, Popley, just after 9am this morning.
The woman was taken to the specialist burns unit at Salisbury District Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police evacuated around 20 neighbouring homes while engineers from Southern Gas Networks investigated the leak. An emergency shelter was set up at Popley Fields Community Centre, in Carpenters Down, Popley.
