WHERE have all the flowers gone? That is the question police have been called in to help answer at Tadley cemetery.
Tadley town council called in the police after upset mourners reported the disappearance of flowers over the last two weeks.
Town council chairman Councillor Jo Slimin said: “We have had someone report to us that the flowers they laid on a grave have gone missing.
“We have heard through the grapevine that it has been happening to other people too.
“They were upset and annoyed at the thought that someone might have come along and removed something they have placed on a loved one’s grave. People should be able to lay flowers at graves without the fear of them going missing.”
It is the first time the council has ever received reports of flowers going missing from the cemetery.
Cllr Slimin said the council is also concerned about people using the car park next to the cemetery, in Church Road, inappropriately.
She said: “Councillors who live nearby and local residents have heard and seen people doing wheel spins in the car park. People want to use the cemetery in peace and we don’t want to have to lock up the car park.
“We have also reported this and would ask anyone who sees this happening to take number plates if possible and report it to the police.”
