ESSEX’S favourite couple are coming to Basingstoke to launch a competition for one lucky couple to win a wedding.

The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) stars James Argent and Lydia Bright will be in Festival Place on February 11 from midday as part of the shopping centre’s competition to win a wedding package worth over £15,000.

Joining the couple, who are both in the BAFTA award-winning ITV2 reality programme, will be musician Fil Straughan, who will entertain shoppers at the event in Porchester Square.

Anyone thinking of getting married soon can enter the competition to win a complete wedding package, which will include a honeymoon, reception for 50 guests, bridal hair and make-up, rings, dresses, cake and much more.

Theresa Chapman, events manager at Festival Place, said: “We are delighted to have Arg and Lydia from The Only Way is Essex at Festival Place to launch this amazing wedding competition.

“All the retailers, restaurants and The Hampshire Court Hotel have worked hard to ensure one winning bride and groom will have the wedding of their dreams, and we are really excited to have these celebrities here to host the launch.”

Fifty finalists will be chosen from all the entrants to attend a champagne reception in Festival Place on April 29 – a year after 2011’s marriage of the year between Prince William and Kate Middleton. It will be here that the lucky winning couple will be revealed.

It will be Arg’s third official visit to the town, having previously made appearances at two Basingstoke bars.

On his last visit in November, Arg stepped in to help out his girlfriend, who was booked to attend Karma at The Top of The Town, but pulled out at the last minute after getting a better offer in Los Angeles.
