CONCERN is growing for a 26-year-old surfer from Hook who has gone missing in the Cornish seaside resort of Newquay.
Oliver Doy was last seen walking close to the town’s cinema with an unknown man and two women in the early hours of Saturday morning. Coastguard rescue teams and a lifeboat were scrambled to search for Mr Doy, whose driving licence was later found on a beach.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police said: “He had attended Newquay to spend the weekend and following a night out in town he went missing from his friends.
“No identification has yet been made on any potential witnesses; police are still appealing for these people to come forward as they may hold vital information to Oliver’s movements and actions before he went missing.”
A Facebook page attributed to Mr Doy said he attended Robert May's School in Odiham and works as a healthcare assistant for the NHS.
Appeals for information have also been launched on the social networking site Twitter.
