COMEDIAN Jason Manford met slimming consultants from the Basingstoke area at their organisation’s annual awards.
The Basingstoke team, who run weekly Slimming World groups in the area, were thrilled to meet the funnyman, who shot to fame on TV panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats. Salford-born stand-up Manford, who has appeared on a string of television shows including Show Me the Funny, Comedy Rocks and Live At The Apollo, hosted the national awards ceremony in Birmingham.
Elaine Erskine, who is a consultant running the Tadley group, said meeting Jason Manford had been exciting and the whole event had been inspiring. She said: “It was a really good night. We were there having had ladies nominated for Woman of the Year and although we did not have the lady who won, it was inspirational because the winner had lost more than 12 stone.”
