Results delight at college

HARD working students from Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT) were celebrating after receiving their GCSE results.

A total of 284 students took GCSEs in English, Spanish, science and maths, which are the GCSE courses that are offered at the college in Worting Road.

The results showed 86 per cent of Spanish GCSE students achieved grades A to C and 79 per cent of those who took English as a GCSE achieved grades A to C. Of those who took science as a GCSE, 58 per cent were awarded grades A to C, while in maths 63 per cent gained A to C grades.

Students were also awarded their National Diploma results, with more than 70 per cent of those taking the qualification, gaining a distinction or merit in their chosen subject.

Anthony Bravo, principal of BCOT, said: “I am so proud of all the |students’ achievements this year. We’ve seen some great results across the College.

“I was delighted to receive a letter from a proud parent thanking us for the support her daughter had received on our National Diploma Art and Design course which led her to a place at university.

“This to me really sums up what BCOT is about – helping our students to achieve their goals and be the best they can be during their time with us.”
