A man had to be cut free from the bottom of a flume at Basingstoke Aquadrome after getting stuck this afternoon.

Two crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service – along with paramedics – attended the scene at around 1pm after the 37-year-old got his leg trapped in between stairs at the bottom of the flume on Sunday.

Officers got to the Leisure Park and confirmed they were able to free the man, who was first thought to have suffered a broken leg.

Crews left at around 1.30pm.

His injuries are not believed to be as bad as first thought, according to fire officers.

Basingstoke Aquadrome is unavailable to comment at this time.
