MORE than 500 marijuana plants have been seized by police officers raiding a cannabis factory in Basingstoke.
Hampshire Constabulary detectives shut down the factory in Blunden Close, Cranbourne, on Wednesday. They were acting on search warrant following a tip-off from the public.
Detective Sergeant Tim Chappell, of Basingstoke CID, said: “A considerable quantity of cannabis was seized following the warrant, meaning these drugs will now never reach our streets.”
He urged residents who suspect a neighbouring property to be involved in drug production or use to contact Basingstoke police station on 101.
Signs to look for include blacked-out windows or curtains permanently drawn.
