Air views on roads

RESIDENTS are being called upon for their views on local roads.

Villagers in Bramley can speak to officers from Hampshire County Council’s Highways department today and tell them what improvements they believe would help pedestrians get around the village more easily.

The open day is being held at the Village Hall, in The Street, Bramley, between 1pm and 7pm, and residents can comment on proposed new footpaths and the regulation of parking around the school.

But it's like speaking to a lame, deaf old bull. It snorts and makes the right noises, but never really listens...

Roads are fine....apart from a few thousand pot-holes here and there. Try cutting back some of the "precious" trees instead....

Thanks to our good ole' Labour & Lib Dem custodians of the past there is plenty of spare tarmac in those traffic calming islands and raised bus stops to fill all the pot holes in the County! What a legacy!

They fill in bus stops and raise the kerbs BUT THE BUSES KNEEL! *SCORE*

There is an election coming. When you are sat in your car unable to get round a bus because they have filled in the bus stop, or are waiting for a stream of traffic at a calming point, or hitting your head on your car ceiling going over speed bumps - remember that it was the LIB/LAB alliance that put them there. Vote for them if you would like more of the same......

There are certainly a lot of improvements that can be made to the roads in Basingstoke (mainly to ease congestion). However, I think many Basingstokers blow the pothole thing completely out of proportion. I'm from Waltham Forest area originally, and each time I go back there, I note how many more potholes there are there compared to in Basingstoke! In my opinion, there Basingstoke is relatively pothole free!
