Stabbing victim in hospital

A WOMAN is being treated for stab wounds after an incident in her Basingstoke bedsit in the early hours of yesterday.

Zoe Arnold, 24, was rushed to hospital with “multiple injuries” after being stabbed in her bedsit in St Michael's Road, South Ham.

An ambulance was called to the scene at 3.10am on Sunday and Miss Arnold was taken to Basingstoke hospital for treatment.

Speaking outside the crime scene yesterday morning, Zoe's mum, Pauline Arnold, 51, from South Ham, said: “She is in hospital with a punctured lung and is on a drip.”

A Basingstoke hospital spokesman described Miss Arnold's condition as “satisfactory”.

Yesterday, neither Basingstoke police or the Hampshire Constabulary control room were giving out much information about what had happened.

They did, however, say no-one had been detained in connection with the incident.

Inspector Laurie Rickwood, of Basingstoke police, said: “We are not seeking assistance in identifying people at the moment and have information which we can act upon.”
