STOLEN mobile phones with a combined value of more than £140,000 are now being sold on Basingstoke’s streets.

Thieves took 118 Motorola Aura phones, worth £1,200 each, in a raid on a storage facility just outside the town.

So far 19 have been recovered. Detectives have warned any who buys a stolen phone could face up to 14 years in prison.

The theft took place in September and six people have been arrested in connection with the theft and handling of the phones.
