BURGLARS raided a landmark Basingstoke building for doors, light fittings, and a handrail.
City Wall House in Basing View, which is currently awaiting demolition, was targeted by thieves sometime between last Friday and yesterday.
Police believe the heist involved a large amount of planning.
The building is due to be demolished by 2011 in preparation for the regeneration of Basing View. It has been largely vacant for the last 12 years.
PC Tracy West, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This burglary would have needed a lot of planning and a large vehicle would have been required to take the stolen items away.
“The building itself is empty and awaiting demolition. It has been targeted in the past and incidents like this must stop before someone gets hurt.
“We would ask anyone who has any information about the burglary to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact PC West at Basingstoke police station, on 0845 045 4545, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
