TWO north Hampshire schoolgirls have donated their hard-earned cash to a Basingstoke charity.

Olivia Fryer and Amber Denham, both 13, made £100 by spending the summer washing cars for friends and family.

But rather than spend the money themselves, the girls – who both live in Kempshott Lane, Kempshott, Basingstoke, and go to Perins School in Alresford – have decided to donate the money to St Michael’s Hospice, in Basingstoke, which offers palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Olivia’s mum Sharon Fryer said: “My mother was one of the first people in the hospice when it opened, so that’s one reason, but the girls decided off their own backs that they wanted to donate their money.”
